Regional food security: a concept and an assessment

Abstract: The article analyzes the approaches to the definition, criteria, and threshold values of regional food security. Based on the analysis of indicators of food security of the Altai region, the main directions of the regional food policy are justified. The research shows that regional food security determines the level of security and sustainability of both the region as a whole and individual households.
