Regional rural development: the formation of ecoregions in Austria.

Abstract: The concept of 'ecoregions' aims to integrate organic farming and regional development. Ecoregions vary in their exact form since they are responses to specific regional problem situations. Ecoregions may appear as regions of origin for organic products in supermarkets or as a strategy to market an entire geographical area, albeit using the images of typical organic produce.
