Internet of Things (IoT) services have grown substantially in recent years. Consequently, IoT service providers (SPs) are emerging in the market and competing to offer their services. Many IoT applications utilize these services in an integrated manner with different Quality-of-Service (QoS) requirements. Thus, the provisioning of end-to-end QoS is getting more indispensable for IoT platforms. However, provisioning the system by using only QoS metrics without considering user experiences is not sufficient. Recently, Quality of Experience (QoE) model has become a promising approach to quantify actual user experiences of services. A holistic design approach that considers constraints of various QoS/QoE metrics together is needed to satisfy requirements of these applications and services. Besides, IoT services may operate in environments with limited resources. Therefore, effective management of services and system resources is essential for QoS/QoE support. This paper provides a comprehensive survey for the state-of-the-art studies on IoT services with QoS/QoE perspective. Our contributions are threefold: (1) QoEdriven architecture is demonstrated by classifying vital components according to QoE-related functions in prior studies, (2) QoE metrics and QoE optimization objectives are classified by corresponding system and resource control problems in the architecture, and (3) QoE-aware resource management e.g., QoE-aware offloading, placement and data caching policies with recent Machine Learning approaches are extensively reviewed. End-to-end delay, aiming to realize how much time it will take for a traffic load generated by a Mobile Node (MN) to reach Sink Node (SN), is a principal objective of most new trends in a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). It has a direct link towards understanding the minimum time delay expected where the packet sent by MN can take to be received by SN. Most importantly, knowing the average minimum transmission time limit is a crucial piece of information in determining the future output of the network and the kind of technologies implemented. In this paper, we take network load and transmission delay issues into account in estimating the Average Minimum Time Limit (AMTL) needed for a health operating cognitive WSN. To further estimate the AMTL based on network load, an end-to-end delay analysis mechanism is presented and considers the total delay (service, queue, ACK, and MAC). This work is proposed to answer the AMTL needed before implementing any cognitive based WSN algorithms. Various time intervals and cogitative channel usage with different application payload are used for the result analysis. Through extensive simulations, our mechanism is able to identify the average time intervals needed depending on the load and MN broadcast interval in any cognitive WSN.

WMSN is definitely a special type of WSN which will good sense and move scalar data in addition to multi-media data, which is, impression, audio, and online video revenues, within real-time in addition to non-real-time. In WMSN, the goal is to send information from a source to a destination node in peer-to-peer connection through intermediate mobile nodes, i.e., across multiple hops. In this paper, a novel metaheuristic technique i.e., triangular mutation based particle swarm optimization is proposed to detect attacks in wireless multimedia networks. The performance of the original Triangle link quality metric and minimum inter-path Interference based Geographic Multipath Routing (TIGMR) protocol based geographic multipath routing is compared with this new implemented approach, called here as An Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV)-PSO. Two metrics were used to evaluate the performance of the algorithm: Bit Error Rate. We observed that the AODV-PSO outperformed the original AODV protocol in the scenarios studied in this paper.
