“…The cutoff score for the original version (i.e., the English version) of the NDDI-E was N 15 [16] which was subsequently tested to be suitable in Brazilian and Greek versions [19,20], while studies in Italy, Germany, and Spain recommended a different cutoff score of N13 [22][23][24]. However, in Asian countries, the cutoff scores varied greatly, with N11 in the Korean version [25] and N16 in the Japanese version [21]. The ROC curve analysis indicated a cutoff score that was fairly low among all the versions.…”

“…The psychosocial factors were perceived stigma, depression and anxiety. Eligible patients completed several self-report questionnaires: the Aggression Questionnaire (AQ) [13], the Revised Stigma Scale (RSS) [14], the Korean version of the Neurological Disorders Depression Inventory for Epilepsy (K-NDDI-E) [15] and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) [16]. The AQ was developed by Buss and Perry; it measures aggressive behavior and consists of 29 items in four subscales: Physical Aggression (9 items), Verbal Aggression (5 items), Anger (7 items) and Hostility (8 items) [17].…”

“…We would like, however, to highlight that the NDDI‐E not only has been translated and validated in Portuguese, 4 Japanese, 5 Italian, 6 and Spanish from Spain, 3 as Thomson et al. mention in their introduction, but also has been translated and validated in German, 7 Korean, 8 Greek, 9 and more recently in Arabic 10 . We encourage clinicians to proceed to the translation and validation of the NDDI‐E in other languages, as it is an excellent tool for screening for depression in epilepsy.…”
