Abstract:A] 40-year old female with moderate to severe mitral regurgitation (MR), two recent prior admissions for acute heart failure, coming in for an assessment of mitral valve disease strongly opposed to the idea of valve-replacement for multiple personal reasons. Given the anatomy of the pathological valve, repair seemed "complex." 1 After prolonged rationalization she underwent an open-heart surgery for mitral valve repair.
