Abstract:We thank Dr. Blasi et al. for their comments on our paper. 1 Below are our responses to their comments.We found that a short-term administration of antithrombin III (AT-III) reduces portal vein thrombosis (PVT) more significantly (in 20 of 36 patients, 55.6%) than does placebo (in 7 of 36 patients, 19.4%).
