Reply to Letter Regarding Article,"Plasma Brain Natriuretic Peptide Levels Indicating Thromboembolism in Very Elderly Patients With Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation"

Abstract

We appreciate Dr Sata's comments about the presentation of our recent article in the Journal. 1 We regret that the references were wrongly numbered and that readers were a little confused. As scientists, we think much of the importance of the thinking process, which is often the key to further study in the field.Relationships among atrial fibrillation (AF), coagulants and cardiac factors have been reported 2 and we are very interested in cerebral embolism due to AF, especially in elderly patients. 3 We will take advantage of this opportunity and be ready for further study of elderly patients with AF. Lastly, we again thank Dr Sata and colleagues for their comments.
