Abstract:W e sincerely appreciate the efforts and comments by Dr. Sfeir regarding our article (1). We agree with the premise of understanding the local epidemiology of methicillin-resistant Streptococcus aureus (MRSA) when applying this study to patients with diabetic foot infection. Furthermore, we agree that our study should only be applied to non-critically ill patients because we do not know the negative predictive value threshold at which it would be acceptable to withhold treatment for MRSA.
