Reprogramming nucleolar size by genetic perturbation of the extranuclear Rab GTPases Ypt6 and Ypt32

Abstract: Reprogramming organelle size has been proposed as a potential therapeutic approach. However, there have been few reports of nucleolar size reprogramming. We addressed this question in Saccharomyces cerevisiae by studying mutants having opposite effects on the nucleolar size.
