Research on the SDIF Failure Principle for RF Stealth Radar Signal Design

Abstract: Radio frequency (RF) stealth is one of the essential research hotspots in the radar field. The anti-sorting signal is an important direction of the RF stealth signal. Theoretically speaking, the anti-sorting signal design is based on the failure principle of the radar signal sorting algorithm, and the SDIF algorithm is a core sorting algorithm widely used in engineering. Thus, in this paper, the SDIF algorithm is first analyzed in detail. It is pointed out that the threshold function of the SDIF algorithm will… Show more

“…After analysis, scholars have researched three aspects: 1 signal frequency-hopping design, time-varying pulse width, and pulse arrival angle deception [8,[26][27][28]; high-density pulse flow leads to the 3 failure of threshold function [10] and 5 sorting algorithm in real-time sequence search [13,29]. Therefore, the above three aspects are not studied in this paper.…”

“…In the anti-interception strategy, radar realizes RF stealth mainly by power control of radiation sources and directional antennas [9]. The anti-sorting strategy is primarily through the anti-sorting signal design technique to achieve RF stealth [10], and the anti-identification strategy is mainly through the complex signal design. Even if the signal is intercepted and sorted, there is no relevant signal data in the radar database to match and identify the signal, failing to achieve RF stealth.…”

“…In the present complex radar electronic countermeasure environment, RF stealth radar has excellent development potential due to its excellent anti-interception and anti-sorting performance. Anti-sorting signal design is an important development direction for RF stealth radar [ 6 , 32 ]. In addition, anti-PRI sorting signal design requires the relevant theoretical basis for the signal design.…”

“…Therefore, radio frequency (RF) stealth radar has become a research hotspot in the radar field. According to the three detection stages of signal interception, sorting and identification of broadband real-time electronic reconnaissance equipment such as radar warning receivers, the corresponding radar RF stealth mainly includes anti-interception [ 5 , 6 , 7 ], anti-sorting [ 8 ] and anti-identification. Anti-sorting, referring to preventing an electronic reconnaissance system from separating each radar pulse sequence from a random and interleaved pulse flow, is an important breakthrough point for anti-electronic reconnaissance systems [ 9 ].…”
