Research on Urban Public Green Space Planning Based on Taxi Data: A Case Study on Three Districts of Shenzhen, China

Abstract: Urban public green space (UPGS) plays an important role in sustainable development. In China, the planning, classification, and management of green spaces are based on the Standard for Classification of Urban Green Space (SCUGS). However, limitations to the UPGS exist due to the over-emphasis on quantitative standards and insufficient consideration of the actual access mode of residents. Though the taxi trajectory data are widely selected to study public service facilities, its adoption in UPGSs research remai… Show more

“…landscape evaluation of urban open spaces, where a landscape evaluation system is constructed through research and information feedback 23 .The other type of study is a practical one, in which feedback is collected in the form of questionnaires and field visits to comprehensively evaluate the use of urban parks in terms of user behaviour and satisfaction, and to suggest improvements. Currently, POE is mostly applied to studies on landscape and facility enhancement of single or several parks and green spaces 24 ,There are relatively few studies on urban park green space systems, but evaluating the use of urban park green space as a whole is an important reference value for improving the green space service function of the whole city 25 。…”

“…In addition, they claimed that employment, mixed land use, and road density have significant effects on the ridership of each mode [61]. Zheng et al used the taxi trajectory data to investigate the spatial layout and the allocation of management resource of the urban public green space from the spatial interaction perspective [62]. Shen et al analyzed the spatiotemporal pattern of taxi travel based on an improved network kernel density estimation method [63].…”

“…1.4 Classification of parks based on regional and trans-regional scales Since the scale is one of the factors influencing the perception of legibility, it seems necessary to express the classification of parks based on scales. According to different categorizations of urban parks in every country or state (Alikhani et al, 2018;Zheng et al, 2019), the national classification of urban parks in Iran has been chosen to use for this research. Due to the definition of "design criteria of urban green space", urban parks are divided into neighborhood park, local park, district park, regional park and trans-regional park based on the scale.…”
