Research trends in ulcerative colitis: A bibliometric and visualized study from 2011 to 2021

Abstract: Background: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is an idiopathic inflammatory bowel disease with repeated relapses and remissions. Despite decades of effort, numerous aspects, including the initiating event and pathogenesis of UC, still remain ambiguous, which requires ongoing investigation. Given the mass of publications on UC, there are multidimensional challenges to evaluating the scientific impact of relevant work and identifying the current foci of the multifaceted disease. Accordingly, herein, we aim to assess the g… Show more

“…Nodes displaying a betweenness centrality greater than 0.1 are connected to over 10 % of other nodes. These nodes exert substantial influence through the significant resources they control within their networks [ 33 ]. The United States, China, and Englandwere the primary research centers for cytokine storms, and had close cooperation with Italy, Canada, and Germany.…”

“…Co–citation occurs when two journals are referenced in one or more identical papers at the same time. In this case, the two journals cited by the same third journal are thought to share intellectual affinity ( 43 ). Journal co–citation analysis may be used to identify the journals that are significant in a certain topic.…”

“…Such nodes hold a crucial position and exerted a substantial influence on other nodes. [283] They were widely recognized as critical and central within the network. [276,284,285] In addition, the Q score, which ranges from 0 to 1, was used to assess the structure of a network.…”
