Abstract:A particular virial equation of state is proposed for calculation of residual thermodynamic properties of real gases. It uses an infinite, nontruncated series of terms, but simplified, temperature-independent values of the virial coefficients are suggested beyond the third. Range limits of applicability are investigated along with their possible extensions. Within these range limits the suggested equation defines all residual thermodynamic properties of real gases and their mixtures, including partial molar re… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
