Resilience analysis: A formulation to model risk factors on complex system resilience

Abstract: Resilience is about the ability of the system to resist, adapt to, and expeditiously recover from a disruptive event. The first and maybe the crucial step of resilience management is known as resilience analysis. However, there are many obstacles in front of the analyzers to analyze the resilience of systems. One of these obstacles is precise resilience data accessibility. Conventional resilience analysis methods frequently only consider historical data (e.g., time to repair and time to failure). However, to a… Show more

“…In later years, authors such as Xu and Li, Misra et al, and Giorgio et al discussed the properties of the frailty model [35][36][37]. Moreover, recently this model was used in spar part estimation, remaining useful life (RUL), recoverability, failure data analysis, and resilience analysis [21][22][23][24]38,39]. According to this model, the reliability of each component (R(t; z; z(t)|α)) can be modelled as follows [21][22][23][24]:…”

“…Rukovaoci dampera rade u otežanim uslovima rada [11,12]. Dodatno, podaci o smrtnim slučajevima u vezi sa damperima pokazuju visoke brojeve i preporučuju se brojne mere za unapređenje bezbednosti [13][14][15]. Potrošnja goriva dampera čini oko 30% ukupne potrošnje energije u površinskim kopovima [16][17].…”

“…However, these few developed mechanisms are limited when the outage is hard or impossible to detect. Furthermore, network failures face a lack of management and of anticipation strategy [5]. Besides, most prior works in RAN resilience enhancement propose resilient mechanisms without quantifying the improvements observed with resilience metrics [5].…”

Besides, most prior works in RAN resilience enhancement propose resilient mechanisms without quantifying the improvements observed with resilience metrics [5]. This makes the majority of resilience solutions in the RAN domain purely qualitative.…”
