Resilient Cyber-Physical Energy Systems Using Prior Information Based on Gaussian Process

Abstract: The power grid infrastructure is a large-scale, heterogeneous, and complex cyber-physical system which forms the lifeline of modern societies. The trend of tight coupling of physics, communication and computation in cyber-physical energy systems (CPES) is evident by the inclusion of numerous measurement sensors. This contributes to enhancing the monitoring and control functionalities of CPES. At the same time, the occurrence of adverse effects constitutes a vital dimension of CPES operation. Increasing the res… Show more

“…• Advanced support for DER integration and local energy management (metering and efficiency services). In addition to the aforementioned benefits, with the advancement in the energy sector digitization, DER management and integration processes have also improved with respect to reliability, availability, resilience, stability, security, and privacy [238]- [240]. The following paragraphs analyze the blockchain contribution in the enhancement of these features.…”

“…Power systems have built-in mechanisms to automatically detect and isolate such high impact events to avert their potentially disastrous consequences. Different methodologies can also be utilized, physicsbased, data-driven, or a combination of the two, could be used to detect and overcome such conditions [32], [96], [97].…”
