Abstract:Dissolved oxygen, a vital parameter for a majority of marine organisms, may decline in the near future due to anthropogenic eutrophication in coastal waters. The effect of depleting dissolved oxygen on the marine benthic community is difficult to assess from field studies, as dissolved oxygen often co-varies with several other parameters, especially organic matter. The controlled laboratory culture experiments can help to assess the effect of a specific parameter on marine organisms. Foraminifera constitute a … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
