Response to the Report ‘Influence of Soft Contact Lens Solutions on Rabbit Cornea’ by Dreifus and Wobmann

Abstract: Objections are raised to the interpretation by Dreifus and Wobmann of their findings regarding cold disinfecting solutions used during the wearing of soft hydrophilic contact lenses by rabbits. Their assessment was made from electron micrographs of corneal tissue from a non clinical situation. Attention is called to the problems encountered in attempting to design an experiment that duplicates normal lens wear by a human being.
