Restoration of Endodontically Treated Tooth

Abstract

A successful endodontic treatment depends on endodontic treatment as well as post endodontically restoring the lost tooth structure2 . Compared to vital teeth, root canal-treated teeth will be more prone to biomechanical problems. Post-core treatments are often used in dentistry to prevent fracture of the remaining dental tissues in crown treatments and to support the final restorations in root canal-treated teeth, especially those with extensive loss of tooth structure. An ideal post should dissipate the occlusal load acting on the tooth uniformly. In the event of a retreatment the post must be easily removeable.
