RETRACTED ARTICLE: Polymer electrolytes: characteristics and peculiarities

Abstract: Polymer electrolytes are an important component of many electrochemical devices. This paper reviews stateof-the-art of the electrochemical and physical properties of polymer electrolytes. This review mainly encompasses the properties of different salts, solvents, and polymer hosts, which are encaged in liquid electrolytes. The additions of filler in polymer electrolytes result in composite polymer electrolytes, having high mechanical integrity and ionic conductivity, that are ideal electrolyte for these applic… Show more

“…Polymer electrolytes offer advantages over ceramics, including good processibility and flexibility, while maintaining the advantages of solid electrolytes, including dimensional stability, safety and the ability to prevent lithium dendrite formation [110][111][112][113]. In some polymer electrolytes, lithium salts are solvated by the polymer chains, while in others a solvent is added to form a polymer gel.…”

“…Polymer electrolytes (PEs) have been extensively studied [2,[8][9][10][11][12] as alternative electrolytes. In some polymer electrolytes, lithium salts are solvated by polymer chains [13][14][15], while others are formed in situ polymerization of monomers in the presence of salt solutions [16][17][18].…”
