Abstract: Epicarditis (visceral pericardial inflammation) is a very unique and rare diagnosis. It is almost always associated with parietal pericardial involvement and may occur in medical conditions such as viral, bacterial (mycobacterial) infections and uremia or postoperatively in the setting of cardiac surgery.
