Retrieving Carrier Population and Collection Efficiency in CFTS/CFTSe‐Based Solar Cell Using Low‐Dimensional Multiple Nanostructures

Abstract: In recent times, research communities are working on device to harvest solar energy at low cost. Copper‐based quaternary chalcogenides are one among the leading materials in the field. Herein, the electrical and optical performance of quantum well embedded Cu 2 - Fe - Sn - normalS 4 (CFTS) solar cell is investigated in detail. Multiple quantum wells (MQWs) with different bandgaps ensure wider photon absorption of solar spectrum. Hence, MQWs made up of CFTSe/CFTS are incorporated with a variation in w… Show more

“…Since the highest open-circuit voltage in CZTSSe solar cells has been reported for CZTS solar cell [ 3 , 7 ], the use of CZTS as host material with quantum wells based on CZTSSe compound is expected to increase Jsc in comparison to the reference CZTS solar cell, with Voc values similar to the traditional CZTS solar cell resulting in a promoted efficiency. The first proposal of kesterite quantum well solar cells was presented in 2019 [ 23 ] and was further enriched by subsequent work, in which different types of materials belonging to the kesterite family were considered [ 24 , 25 , 26 , 27 , 28 ]. However, there are few works reported on this topic; all of which are in the early stages of development.…”
