The giant network and applications offered by a device tiny enough to be called “Dust”, has revolutionized the way we live our lives. IoT has gained rapid access and application in a wide spectrum of applications ranging from a heart monitoring device to a sensor in hazardous factory locations saving lives further leaping on to home automation & managing vehicles on roads. Home automation has seen an increased usage in developed countries as most homes are equipped and controlled through IoT. The Internet of Things is a huge network of associated things and individuals all of which gather and share data about the manner in which they are utilized and about the environment around them. In today's modern technological era IOT has gained much admiration and is evolving at a very high pace. This paper lays out an idea of creating an IOT based Home Automation system. It illustrates the use of various hardware devices such as Arduino Uno, ESP8266 NodeMCU and some sensors along with software applications like the google firebase which is a realtime database to create a completely functional smart home. This project proposes a system where the home appliances can be controlled from the user's mobile application via the internet from any part of the world while other minor devices and their tasks are fully automated by the system. It even integrates voice commands to the system using Google's Voice Assistant system. The paper presents a very simple and cost effective system that can be easily implemented in any household. Security system with RFID control using E-KTP and internet of things

Crimes against property without using violence, in this case, are theft and burglary is the type of crime that is most common every year. However, home security needs a security system that is more efficient and practical. To overcome this, an internet of things (IoT) is needed. This research evaluated the performance prototype by reading distance from the radio frequency identification (RFID) reader using E-KTP and quality of service performance (i.e throughput and delay) from application android. This research design smart door lock using RFID sensor, passive infrared sensor (PIR), solenoid as door locks, buzzer, led, E-KTP as RFID tags and also android application to controlling and monitoring made with android studio is connected to NodeMCU V3 ESP8266 as storage data and connect with firebase realtime database instead of conventional keys. This research focuses on performance prototype and quality of service from features application is work well. Related to previous works, our evaluation shows that the performance prototype can read identity card (E-KTP) with a maximum distance is 4 cm, and performance quality of service for an application show that throughput and delay with a perfect index according to standardization telecommunications and internet protocol harmonization over network (TIPHON) depending on what features are being evaluated.

The Internet of Things has contributed to make smarter houses and buildings in the last decades. Different existing works already integrate IoT technologies in homes, but end-user needs continuously change and researchers must face this challenge in identifying platforms to fast prototype solutions satisfying these new needs. This paper presents a solution that demonstrates how well-known fast-prototyping technologies like Node-RED, IBM Watson, Telegram, Raspberry Pi 4, and secured MQTT can contribute to develop complex systems facing the challenge. The selected tools are used within a smart home context to support features inspired by people needs and allow users to: a) consult real time conditions (i.e., temperature, humidity, gas), b) remotely manage lights, c) save energy through a light management system based on user movements, d) remotely monitor the house through dedicated webcams, e) generate warning notifications in case of danger. Users can interact with the systems through a web Node-RED dashboard and a Telegram bot. Differently from existing works, the feasibility of the implemented system and the efficacy of the exploited platforms are demonstrated through a running scenario extracted from a consolidated study on user needs in smart homes. The performed experiment can facilitate the fast prototyping of new solutions.
