In recent years, intelligent transportation has made extensive use of the vehicle network made possible by fifth-generation (5G) technology. There are a lot of information security risks with the system because all messages sent between vehicles are broadcast according to the public environment. Thus, this paper proposes a post-quantum lattice-based forward-secure authentication scheme using fog computing to support quantum resistance and satisfy forward security in 5G-assisted vehicular communications. This work is efficiently updated and new secret keys are generated using the group signature for each period. In addition, the key disclosure vulnerabilities present in various conventional group signature systems are rendered moot by our method, which lowers forward security to short integer solution (SIS) hardness. The proposed scheme uses a matrix modular exponentiation and matrix transpose operations for message signature verification.

The 5G-enabled vehicular network is an innovative technology that has promise for intelligent transportation systems. It enables the transmitting of messages about traffic that deliver the most recent information on congestion, road conditions, and driving surroundings. The communication channel used by vehicle networks is inherently open, which unfortunately exposes the system to privacy and security concerns. To solve the problems of deploying a safe vehicular network, some academics have put forth plans. However, a number of current methods have significant computational or communication overhead costs. To solve this problem, an efficient and secure authentication with a privacypreserving (ES-APP) scheme established elliptic curve encryption is introduced. With the proposed ES-APP, the data signed and verified for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure modes in the 5G-based vehicular network are more effective. The ES-APP scheme’s goal is to meet the criteria for the security and privacy of the 5G-enabled automotive network. Ultimately, this work discusses the critical survey of the existing studies and the expected outcome for the ESAPP scheme and further works in the 5G-enabled vehicular network.

Several researchers have proposed secure authentication techniques for addressing privacy and security concerns in the fifth-generation (5G)-enabled vehicle networks. To verify vehicles, however, these conditional privacy-preserving authentication (CPPA) systems required a roadside unit, an expensive component of vehicular networks. Moreover, these CPPA systems incur exceptionally high communication and processing costs. This study proposes a CPPA method based on fog computing (FC), as a solution for these issues in 5G-enabled vehicle networks. In our proposed FC-CPPA method, a fog server is used to establish a set of public anonymity identities and their corresponding signature keys, which are then preloaded into each authentic vehicle. We guarantee the security of the proposed FC-CPPA method in the context of a random oracle. Our solutions are not only compliant with confidentiality and security standards, but also resistant to a variety of threats. The communication costs of the proposal are only 84 bytes, while the computation costs are 0.0031, 2.0185 to sign and verify messages. Comparing our strategy to similar ones reveals that it saves time and money on communication and computing during the performance evaluation phase.
