Revisiting generalized Chaplygin gas as a unified dark matter and dark energy model

Abstract: Abstract. In this paper, we revisit generalized Chaplygin gas (GCG) model as a unified dark matter and dark energy model. The energy density of GCG model is given as ρGCG/ρGCG0, where α and Bs are two model parameters which will be constrained by type Ia supernova as standard candles, baryon acoustic oscillation as standard rulers and the seventh year full WMAP data points. In this paper, we will not separate GCG into dark matter and dark energy parts any more as adopted in the literatures. By using Markov Cha… Show more

“…[90][91][92] In the framework of the so-called dark degeneracy, 93 attempts to provide a unified picture of Dark Matter and Dark Energy have been formulated, e.g., in terms of the Chaplygin gas. [94][95][96][97] S. Capozziello and coworkers recently looked at the so-called Extended Theories of Gravity 98,99 as a new paradigm aiming to encompass, in a self-consistent scheme, problems like inflation, Dark Energy, Dark Matter, large scale structure and, first of all, to give at least an effective description of Quantum Gravity.…”
