rGO‐CuOx Composites Reduced by Solid‐Phase Microwave Thermal Shock for High‐Efficient Seawater Desalination and Purification

Abstract: The solid‐phase microwave thermal shock (SMTS) strategy is a novel method to fabricate micro‐nano composites via interface engineering. By exploiting the transient hot spot effect and arc discharge of strong microwave absorbing materials, rGO‐CuOx composites from GO‐Cu(OH)2 precursors within several 10‐s cycles are synthesized. In the composites, Cu2O nanoparticles show a narrow size distribution of 10–50 nm with metallic Cu nanoclusters uniformly distributed on the surface. The optimized sample exhibits excel… Show more

“…As is well known, GO, as an excellent microwave absorbing material, can convert absorbed microwave energy into internal heat for thermal reduction of MoO 3 to synthesize oxygen-deficient MoO 3– x . To seek the appropriate time for a solid-phase microwave, we recorded the infrared thermal imaging images of GM catalysts for different microwave times.…”

“…As is well known, GO, as an excellent microwave absorbing material, can convert absorbed microwave energy into internal heat for thermal reduction of MoO 3 to synthesize oxygendeficient MoO 3−x . 46 To seek the appropriate time for a solidphase microwave, we recorded the infrared thermal imaging images of GM catalysts for different microwave times. As shown in Figure 1a,b, the accumulation of electromagnetic waves on GO resulted in an uneven distribution of positive and negative charges on the surface of the GM composites, causing The crystal structure and phase composition of the GM series samples were analyzed by XRD (Figure 1c).…”

“…To date, considerable effort and innovative photothermal nanomaterials and multifunctional applications have been applied to this intriguing topic. [8][9][10] The revolution of light-absorbing nanomaterials has undeniably enhanced the overall performance of PMD systems; however, the performance of inexpensive and commercially available carbon materials, such as carbon black and activated carbon, has already been verified. [11][12][13] Furthermore, most emerging photothermal nanomaterials are intrinsically hydrophilic.…”
