“…However, unlike other studies, this study did not find an elevated risk for experiencing unstable housing among Hispanic students relative to their White peers ( 6 ). Furthermore, the higher prevalence of certain risk behaviors and experiences among youths who were unstably versus stably housed documented in the 2021 YRBS data were consistent with previous reports ( 2 4 , 9 ). Although youths who were unstably housed were more likely to be currently sexually active and use alcohol or other substances before last sex, they were also more likely to have ever been tested for HIV or any other STD in the past year.…”

Youth who experience housing instability and particularly SGM youth experiencing housing instability who have sex with men are a marginalized population with multiple intersecting stigmas, including housing related stigma 24,25 .…”

“…The unpredictable nature of the lives of youth experiencing housing instability often leads to inconsistent or non-existent health care and preventive follow up. Unhoused youth are less likely to have access to condoms and STI testing and may engage in condomless sex, which puts them at a higher risk for STI 14 . Relatedly, LGBTQ+ youth experiencing housing instability often engage in sex work or sex trade in order to barter for food, housing, and other basic needs.…”

“…This study found that religion was not significantly correlated with sexual behavior in young men and that faith was significantly associated with multiple sexual partners in young women [13]. This study concluded that religion did not play an essential role in reducing high-risk sexual behavior among young men [14]. However, this association was only moderately effective in preventing risky sexual behavior in women [12].…”
