“…Spinoglio et al reported disease-specific survival rates of 94.5%, disease-free survival rates of 91.4%, and overall survival rates of 90.3% in their series of 100 patients undergoing CME with robotic right hemicolectomy, during a median follow-up period of 48.5 months (range, 24-114 months) (6). In the pilot studies of Huscher et al, which included 123 patients undergoing robotic right hemicolectomy, the median follow-up period was 39 months (IQR, 25-55), with a median overall survival of 69 months (95% CI, 57-80) and a mean disease-free survival of 67 months (95% CI, 65-68) (21). However, the literature currently lacks sufficient evidence to support the claim that robotic surgery provides a survival advantage for right colon cancer.…”

“…Recently, there had also been studies on the safety and effectiveness of robot approaches for T4 colon cancer (68)(69)(70). An NCDB propensity score-matched analysis of open, laparoscopic, and robotic approaches demonstrated that compared with T4 colon cancer open resection, laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery had achieved better tumor prognosis and survival rate and robot-assisted surgery was significantly associated with a lower conversion rate compared with laparoscopic surgery (69).…”

“…The background of this video-vignette is to assess the feasibility, clinical utility and safety of complete vessels preservation in fully robotic 1 sigmoidectomy for cancer. The surgical approach combines oncological radicality and preservation of optimal blood flow, 2 leading to adequate perfusion of colo-rectal anastomosis.…”
