Robust adaptive distributed beamforming for energy-efficient network flooding

Abstract: In a device-to-device wireless multi-hop communication scenario with resource-constrained devices, the energy efficiency of communication plays a significant role in network design and operation. Based on the recently proposed Glossy network flooding approach, we introduce cooperation between transmitting nodes and formulate a robust multicast beamforming problem with imperfect channel state information (CSI) and analyze its performance. The level of cooperation is dependent on the number of limited feedback b… Show more

“…Mobile fronthaul systems will rely not only on beamforming and beamsteering technology [37], but also on massive MIMO technology for creating several transmission channels at mmWave band. Massive MIMO uses several antennas arrays to provide signal amplification by beamforming and high spatial resolution to multiplex many simultaneous users.…”

“…Thus, a combination with the Alamouti scheme can improve the scale of the multicast rate in MISO [261]. In [262], researchers achieved full diversity through optimized quantizers that are capable of beamforming in a multiple inputs, single output multicast medium. The considered quantizers for a two RX system, which can approach outage probability, lies under the complete channel state information.…”
