Abstract:As an analogy of topological insulators and superconductors, “topological phononics”, which applies the concept of band topology to acoustic dispersion, has attracted increasing attention in recent years. We present design of topological acoustic/elastic waveguides in phononic crystals. Topological waveguides are designed from the phonon dispersion analyses by finding edge modes appearing at interfaces between phononic crystals with different band topologies. As a prototype model, we first designed the topolog… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
