Robust Channel Estimation in Multiuser Downlink 5G Systems Under Channel Uncertainties

Abstract: In wireless communication, the performance of the network highly relies on the accuracy of channel state information (CSI). On the other hand, the channel statistics are usually unknown, and the measurement information is lost due to the fading phenomenon. Therefore, we propose a channel estimation approach for downlink communication under channel uncertainty. We apply the Tobit Kalman filter (TKF) method to estimate the hidden state vectors of wireless channels. To minimize the maximum estimation error, a rob… Show more

“…Wireless communication mediums are very susceptible to multipath channels and have a time-varying character by their very design [1]. This causes unwanted transmission power degradation due to frequency-selective fade and inter-symbol interference that affects the signals traveling through them [2]. Compared to Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) antenna, arrays that divide wide band elevated signals into sub-channels [3].…”

“…The authors presented a hierarchical game to minimize both the inter-tier and intra-tier interferences through the network and obtain the tradeoff between QoS satisfaction and lower power consumption. In [39], authors studied the resource allocation and the channel estimation problem for multiuser 5G systems under imperfect CSI. The problem was formulated by Lagrangian duality to compute an optimal power for wireless users.…”
