Robust Image Watermarking based on DCT-DWT-SVD Method

Abstract: Hybrid Image watermarking scheme proposed based on Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT)-Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT)-Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). The cover image is reordered before DCT is applied. The DCT coefficients of the reordered image are decomposed into sub bands using DWT. The singular values of the middle sub bands are found and watermark is embedded. Simulation results shows that this method can survive attacks like rotation, cropping, JPEG compression and noising attacks and also can be used … Show more

“…To prove the effectiveness of the composite watermarking technique, the NC value is compared with the DWT -SVD based multiple watermarking methods [12]. Their method, one watermark is embedded to HL band and another watermark is embedded to a LH band of the original image.…”

“…The literature covering DWT based image watermarking scheme is found to be less robust for images. Animal Joseph et al [12] proposed a robust watermarking algorithm based on DWT and SVD. In their proposed algorithm, the embedding of one watermark into HL band and another watermark embedded into the LH band of the host image and the robustness of extracted watermark is found to have low NC values for test image.…”

“…DCT has been extensively used in image watermarking because of high energy compaction competence and respectable robustness. Generally, from spatial domain to frequency domain conversion Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) is used [38,39]. It also delivers suitable trade-off between Human Visual System (HVS) model and the image misrepresentation degree [40,41].…”

“…DWT is a mathematical tool for disintegrating an image hierarchic [39]. It divides the image into four sub-bands which are lower resolution approximation image (LL), horizontal (HL), vertical (LH) and diagonal (HH) detail sub-bands [37].…”
