Abstract: Background: Critical care paramedics working alongside physicians in the West Midlands MERIT scheme Medical Emergency Response Incident Team (MERIT) have been shown to demonstrate high levels of proficiency in laryngoscopy during Rapid Sequence Induction of anaesthesia (RSI).
