Abstract: Objective: The plasminogen activator system consists of the serine protease urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA), two endogenous inhibitors of PAI-1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor-1) as well as the PAI-2 and uPA receptor (uPAR or CD87).
