Room temperature imidazolium-based ionic liquids as scavengers for hydrogen sulfide removal of crude oil

Abstract: Determination of H2S amounts in crude oil was performed by a precise method instead of UOP163 that were developed in our pervious works. Evaluation of ILs and scavengers were done by two ways. The first one was based on variable concentration of ILs as the scavenger (dynamic method), and the second one was based on a constant concentration of the scavenger during H2S removal process (static method). In the static method, design of experiments was performed for all three tested ILs and three parameters such as … Show more

“…However, the application of chemical solvents is constrained by the concerns related to physical characteristic limitations, such as viscosity, corrosiveness, and higher energy consumption (Choi et al, 2014). Ionic liquids (IL) emerge as a promising solvent for H 2 S removal, being vapourless, thermally stable, reusable, and recognised as environmentally friendly solvents (Beigi et al, 2018). IL exist in a liquid form as molten salts and are composed of both anions and cations.…”

“…The people which were worked with chemicals such as VOCs, toxic heavy metals, and toxic gases (H2S) must be determined in biological matrixes and considered as an important feature in the HSE-MS system. So, evaluation and determination of this pollution in workers, waters and gases with analytical technique (Bagheri Hosseinabadi et al, 2019; Jamshidzadeh & Shirkhanloo, 2019; Miranbeigi et al, 2018; Mirzahosseini, 2019; Pasban & Nonahal, 2018; Paydar & Faghihi Zarandi, 2019) must be done for chemical industries as the main indicators.…”

“…Also, the exposure to toxic metals (Pb, hg, as, Mn, Al) is dangerous for human health due to the combustion of leaded gasoline. Many metal aerosols and gas pollutants created from crude oil and must be removed from oil before enter to air [6,7]. Moreover, sometimes, the heavy metals generate by recycled products such as battery factories [8,9] and high exposure in air threatens people's health.…”
