Low temperature solution‐processible chiral metal halide perovskites, which posse the innately chiral‐induced spin orbit coupling (CISOC), are valuable for the realization of room temperature single junctions‐based spin‐light‐emitting diodes (spin‐LEDs), without involving integrated optics and ferromagnetic electrodes. The current challenging primarily lies on the development of high‐performance spin‐LEDs and the demonstration of the chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS). Herein, chiral organic cation based quasi‐2D perovskite films with prominently circularly polarized luminescence and bright emissions are fabricated for the application of room‐temperature spin‐LEDs. A remarkable external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 15.42% and circularly polarized electroluminescence (CP‐EL) of 4.98% are well achieved in ambient condition. With studies of spin‐related exciton states and magneto‐photoluminescence (magneto‐PL), the spin‐lifetime (τs) is estimated to be 20 ps. This work has greatly promoted the present growth for the high‐performance chiral perovskites spin‐LEDs.

Organic–inorganic hybrid metal halide perovskites carrying strong spin‐orbital coupling (SOC) have demonstrated remarkable light‐emitting properties in spontaneous emission, amplified spontaneous emission (ASE), and circularly‐polarized luminescence (CPL). Experimental studies have shown that SOC plays an important role in controlling the light‐emitting properties in such hybrid perovskites. Here, the SOC consists of both orbital (L) and spin (S) momentum, leading to the formation of J (= L + S) excitons intrinsically involving orbital and spin momentum. In general, there are three issues in determining the effects of SOC on the light‐emitting properties of J excitons. First, when the J excitons function as individual quasi‐particles, the configurations of orbital and spin momentum directly decide the formation of bright and dark J excitons. Second, when the J excitons are mutually interacting as collective quasi‐particles, the exciton–exciton interactions can occur through orbital and spin momentum. The exciton–exciton interactions through orbital and spin momentum give rise to different light‐emitting properties, presenting SOC ordering effects. Third, the J excitons can develop ASE through coherent exciton–exciton interaction and CPL through exciton‐helical ordering effect. This review article discusses the SOC effects in spontaneous emission, ASE, and CPL in organic–inorganic hybrid metal halide perovskites.

Halide perovskite light‐emitting diodes (PeLEDs) hold great potential for applications in displays and lighting. To enhance the external quantum efficiency (EQE) of PeLEDs, it is crucial to boost the photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of the perovskite films. The use of additives has emerged as a powerful chemical strategy to control the crystallization process in solution‐processed perovskite films. The different types of additives that can be used reflect the various types of chemical interactions with the perovskite materials, influencing their crystallization process in various possible ways. Understanding the relationship between these chemical interactions and their impact on the crystallization process is a key step for designing emitters with improved PLQY and devices with superior EQE. Following the logic chain of additive–perovskite interactions, impacts on crystallization, and subsequent enhancement of PLQY and EQE, this review discusses how additives play a pivotal role in influencing the crystallization process to enhance the PLQY of the perovskite films. Furthermore, this assessment addresses the open challenges and outlines future prospects for the development of PeLEDs.
