Rotatable magnetic anisotropy in a Fe0.8Ga0.2thin film with stripe domains: Dynamics versus statics

Abstract: A comprehensive investigation of rotatable anisotropy in a Fe 0.8 Ga 0.2 thin film with a stripe domain structure has been performed comparing static and dynamic measurements. The stripes' domain formation and their rotation under a transverse magnetic field have been imaged by magnetic force microscopy. The rotatable anisotropy field H rot was determined by fitting the frequency evolution of the dipole-dominated magnetostatic spin-wave mode versus the in-plane orientation of the stripe domains, measured by Br… Show more

“…Thus, the features of this sample can be a combination of the existence of both a more prominent presence of a disordered A2 phase with respect to the ordered D0 3 /B2 phases and of orthorhombic Ga clusters. A number of papers studied Fe-Ga thin films [6,[11][12][13][14][15][16][17][32][33][34] and, more specifically, deposition by sputtering [11][12][13][14][15][16][17], although few papers explore thin films with the composition range studied in this paper [6,11,35]. The paper by Dunlap et al [11], in which they studied sputtered Fe-Ga alloys with a (110) texture, is the most similar to the current case.…”

“…The applied field intensity was 155 Oe, below H S . The curves for f R1 Several authors suggest the rotatable anisotropy as the responsible by the high H S and the stripe domains in this kind of samples [7,9,22,23]. Considering this, we have added a rotatable energy term The damping terms contributing to Δf R are, in general, divided in two groups: intrinsic and extrinsic one.…”
