Routine Assessment of Patient Index Data 3 score (RAPID3) correlates well with Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity index (BASDAI) in the assessment of disease activity and monitoring progression of axial spondyloarthritis

Abstract: Routine Assessment of Patient Index Data 3 (RAPID3) is a composite index, very useful for assessment of disease activity of various rheumatic diseases including RA. If RAPID3 can also reliably measure disease activity in axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), it may prove to be a practical and effective quantitative assessment tool in busy practices. We studied the association of RAPID3 with Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI). Patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) seen from 2007 to 2012 … Show more

“…These indirect comparisons show that XLH adults have a lower QoL than the general population (26,27) and their QoL is close to that of patients with chronic diseases ( (29,32). We compared the XLH adults to ax-SpA patients because structural damages are comparable in both diseases including ossifications and enthesopathies ( Table 2).…”

“…The MDHAQ/RAPID3 was developed initially to assess patients with RA, but has been reported to be valuable in monitoring status and status changes over time in all rheumatic diseases in which it has been studied , including OA , SLE , AS , PsA , gout , PMR , and vasculitis . These observations illustrate the potential value of using the same questionnaire in patients with different rheumatic diseases.…”

“…[17,18] The mean BASDAI score of the participants in our study was 4.34, and if we generalize, it is understood that their disease levels were active. As a result of BASFI, which we used to understand how difficult or easy the activities individuals meet or will meet during their daily lives are, it was found that the individuals did not experience restrictions in daily activities.…”
