Saliva: Both a Threat and an Opportunity in Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract: Covid-19 pandemic, continues all over the world with the increasing number of confirmed cases and performed tests day by day. It has been shown that collecting nasopharyngeal samples, as the most commonly prefered method to perform RT-PCR, has disadvantages like causing discomfort and bleeding in patients. Sample collecting procedure also renders healthcare professionals by exposing them to the risk of transmission of the virus related to the direct contact with patients. These disadvantages make this procedur… Show more

“…Finally, the high differential selection increases the sensitivity in the performance of the CRISPER/Cas system. Firstly, CRISPR is not efficient, this is because the performance of any genome editing project can be significantly hampered by variance [7]. The laboratory edition is often done in culture dish, in which the number of cells being effectively edited is represented by editing performance.…”

“…COVID-19 is an epidemic infectious disease endangering public health at present, with the characteristics of rapid transmission, multiple transmission routes, strong infectivity and general susceptibility among the public. 1 During the spread of the epidemic and the normalization of prevention and control, infectious disease patients who have fever symptoms need to be isolated for observation until COVID-19 is eliminated by screening. Isolation can cause dramatic changes in patients’ psychology 2 , and anxiety and depression symptoms are common in this special group.…”
