“…Salmonella osteomyelitis has apparently not been reported before in pregnancy. Salmonella species can be isolated from stool specimen at a frequency of 0.2–1.8% in pregnant women in industrialized countries, but invasive salmonellosis during pregnancy appears to be exceedingly rare with only 178 instances reported in the literature [1–5]. Possibly due to reporting bias, the majority were caused by Salmonella typhi and only six cases were caused by non‐typhoidal Salmonellae.…”
