SC-FDMA-based resource allocation and power control scheme for D2D communication using LTE-A uplink resource

Abstract: Device-to-device (D2D) communication-enabled cellular networks allow cellular devices to directly communicate with each other without any evolved NodeB (eNB). D2D communication aims to improve the spectral efficiency and increases the overall system capacity. For future mobile networks, intelligent radio resource allocation and power control schemes are required to accommodate the increasing number of cellular devices and their growing demand of data traffic. In this paper, a combined resource allocation and p… Show more

“…Focusing on the uplink RB allocation problem for the D2D enabled networks most of the related work is restricted to single cell environments [7][8][9][10][11][12], while very little attention has been paid so far to the respective multi-cell case. Specifically, in [24,25] the D2D RB selection problem is analysed as a game, in a simple scenario with one cellular user per cell.…”

“…RBs assignment and power control are key factors for the efficient operation of the network in terms of spectral and power efficiency. Though significant research efforts have been devoted to the RBs and power allocation in a single-cell environment [7][8][9][10][11][12], the impact and consideration of multi-cell environment in the case of D2D underlay cellular network has been considerably neglected.…”

“…To achieve these benefits, efficient radio resource management techniques for D2D communications must be developed. In [70], the interference alignment technique is employed jointly with user clustering and resource allocation for efficient spectrum sharing and interference management while the work [71] proposes a joint power control and resource allocation framework for spectrum sharing between D2D and uplink cellular communications in the LTE-based wireless network.…”
