Scale dependence and collinear subtraction terms for Higgs production in gluon fusion at N3LO

Abstract: The full, explicit, scale dependence of the inclusive N 3 LO cross section for single Higgs hadroproduction is obtained by calculating the convolutions of collinear splitting kernels with lower-order partonic cross sections. We provide results for all convolutions of splitting kernels and lower-order partonic cross sections to the order in ǫ needed for the full N 3 LO computation, as well as their expansions around the soft limit. We also discuss the size of the total scale uncertainty at N 3 LO that can be an… Show more

“…[12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]. In order to obtain a finite result, appropriate ultra-violet and infrared counterterms need to be included [21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29]. The contributions from the emission of two partons at one loop and three partons at tree-level, however, have not been computed for arbitrary kinematics so far, but they are only known as an expansion around threshold.…”

“…Following the derivation of the three-loop virtual corrections [27][28][29][30][31], of the required renormalization and factorization counterterm contributions [32,33], and of expansions of single and multiple real radiation contributions around the soft limit [25,26,[34][35][36], the threshold approximation of this coefficient function was computed earlier this year [37]. We use our results for the two-loop splitting amplitudes to derive a closed analytic expression for the two-loop single-real contribution to the inclusive N 3 LO coefficient function for Higgs production.…”
