Abstract:Progress on a Fermi kinetics hot electron transport model, a numerically efficient approach based on ideal Fermi gas thermodynamics, is reported. The basics of the model are first reviewed, and then methods for incorporating ionized impurity, acoustic phonon, and long range electron-electron scattering are described. The different roles the various scattering mechanisms serve within the model and their effects on simulation results are also presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
