Scheduling mechanisms in the cloud environment: a methodological analysis

Abstract: Purpose Today, with the rapid growth of cloud computing (CC), there exist several users that require to execute their tasks by the available resources to obtain the best performance, reduce response time and use resources. However, despite the significance of the scheduling issue in CC, as far as the authors know, there is not any systematic and inclusive paper about studying and analyzing the recent methods. This paper aims to review the current mechanisms and techniques, which can be addressed in this area. … Show more

“…As the volume of computational operations increased and this process became heavier, a huge leap in IT emerged (Butpheng et al , 2020). In cloud computing, software–hardware resources are shared between users via the Internet worldwide (Zhang and Abnoosian, 2020; Namasudra, 2021). With this technology, organizations no longer have to store large amounts of data on their computer disks or other storage media (Cheng, 2021; Qureshi and Sharma, 2021).…”

“…Accordingly, the availability and reliability of systems are the important criteria in selecting and using them in sensitive and important centers. Therefore, cloud computing helps organizations improve systems and applications' scalability, flexibility, accessibility, and reliability 5 . The cloud provides an opportunity for organizations that want to take advantage of the migration of their old applications to the cloud 6 .…”
