Abstract: Over three-hundred underground storage tanks containing about 350,000 cubic meters (92 million gallons) of mixed chemical and radioactive waste are located at the Hanford Site (Washington), Oak Ridge Reservation (Tennessee), Savannah River Site (South Carolina), Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (Idaho), and West Valley Site (New York).
