Abstract:rheumatica and giant cell arteritis: a systematic review. JAMA 2016; 315: 2442-2458. There were 30 diagnostic imaging studies for giant cell arteritis. Ultrasound (specificity 78 to 100 per cent) and MRI (73 to 97 per cent) can be used, but temporal artery biopsy remains the standard for definitive diagnosis.
