SCR-based wind turbine control for a DC distributed wind farm

Abstract: This paper details the study of permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) for wind turbines and its control for maximum power point tracking, while connected to a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) bus using a 12 pulse thyristor network. The connection to the HVDC bus is done without the use of a back-to-back converter for the PMSG, reducing the complexity and cost of the PMSG power converter.
