Screening the Marker Components in Psoralea corylifolia L. with the Aids of Spectrum-Effect Relationship and Component Knock-Out by UPLC-MS2

Abstract: Psoralea corylifolia L., (P. corylifolia), which is used for treating vitiligo in clinic, shows inhibitory and activating effects on tyrosinase, a rate-limiting enzyme of melanogenesis. This study aimed to determine the active ingredients in the ethenal extracts of P. corylifolia on tyrosinase activity. The spectrum-effect relationship and knock-out method were established to predict the active compounds. Their structures were then identified with the high resolution mass spectra. A high performance liquid chr… Show more

“…Patients with mild forms of vitiligo showed maximum improvement in 1-10 months, while chronic cases with lip vitiligo showed an inadequate response. Exposure of the patient to sunlight (5-30 min daily) with oral administration of this for 1-7 weeks gave improved the beneficial effects (Sharma et al, 2005). Possible mechanism of action: PSO interacts with ultraviolet in the epidermis forming photosensitive fragments of DNA.…”

“…“Spectrum-Effect Relationship” and “Component Knock-Out” technology has been successfully applied in screening the active ingredients of natural products ( Shi et al, 2018 and Li et al, 2019 ). In this paper, partial least square method was used to analyze the correlation between 10 quantitative characteristic chromatographic peaks of S. heptaphylla and the anti-hepatoma activity (IC 50 value) of S. heptaphylla .…”
