Scrophularia lucidaifolia (Scrophulariaceae), a new species from Turkey

Abstract: The genus Scrophularia Linnaeus (1753: 619) (Scrophulariaceae) is represented by approximately 270 taxa (species and subspecies) worldwide (Olivencia 2009). It is restricted primarily to the North Temperate Zone (Carlbom 1968). The primary centre of diversity of Scrophularia is located in the Irano-Turanian region. The Mediterranean region is also an important area of diversity and for the endemism rate of Scrophularia (Scheunert & Heubl 2014).

“…Structure elucidation of the compounds was done on the basis of 1D-and 2D-NMR experiments, HR-MS analysis and by comparison of their spectroscopic data with the literature. Isolation and structure elucidation procedures for the isolated pure compounds (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6) were reported in our previous study. 10 The chemical structures of the isolated compounds were identified as 8-Oacetyl-4 0 -O-(E)-p-coumaroylharpagide and 8-O-acetyl-4 0 -O-(Z)-p-coumaroylharpagide (an inseparable mixture of isomeric compounds) (1), apigenin 7-O-β-glucopyranoside (2), apigenin 7-O-rutinoside (3), luteolin 7-O-β-glucopyranoside (4), luteolin 7-O-rutinoside (5) and β-sitosterol 3-Oβ-glucopyranoside (6).…”
