Search for the Flavor-Changing Neutral-Current DecaytZqinpp¯Collisions ats

Abstract: We report a search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decay of the top quark t-->Zq (q=u, c) in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.9 fb(-1) collected by the CDF II detector. This decay is strongly suppressed in the standard model and an observation of a signal at the Fermilab Tevatron would be an indication of physics beyond the standard model. Using Z+ > or = 4 jet final state candidate events, with and without an identified bottom quark j… Show more

“…We note that the searches for t → ch [65,66] do not provide any constraints on 2HDM type III in alignment limit since the top quark FCNC couplings with the SM Higgs vanish. The anomalous top decays via t → c/u V where V = γ, Z are explored at the Tevatron [67][68][69] and at the LHC [70][71][72][73], without finding any significant excess of signal events. However, these searches do not provide any meaningful constraints on 2HDM type III since the prediction is much suppressed by loop correction and EW couplings.…”

“…On the experimental side, rare top decays are being searched for at Tevatron [109,110] and LHC [111][112][113]. AT LAS collaboration has set upper limit on the branching ratio Br(t → cg) < 2.7 × 10 −4 at 95% C.L.…”
