Abstract: Identified as a member of the secretin/glucagon/VIP superfamily, pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP1-38) has been recognized as a hormone, neurohormone, transmitter, trophic factor, and known to be involved in diverse and multiple developmental processes.
